To place a hold, comment with the character you would like held. You should receive a confirmation within 24 hours.

Holds last for one week (seven days) with an available extension of three days. This length of time is allowed because when judging applications we look at quality rather than how quickly the application is turned in. However, because we allow a week long hold, you only get one hold and one extension. After that, we'll still accept an application from you if your application is submitted before the hold is marked 'in processing', but we will no longer hold that character.

If a character is 'in processing' this indicates that the moderators have received an application but have yet to make a decision about it.

Challenges to holds are allowed. A number in parentheses beside a name — (2), for example — indicates there are that many holds on that character. Challenges have one week from the date that they place a challenge to submit an application. No extensions will be granted unless the first hold falls through. We will not a hold on a character after we mark that character as 'in processing'. Only holds made before we mark the the character as in processing will be considered.

If we reject your application, you're free to inquire why your application was rejected at therevivalmods@gmail.com. If we ask for a re-write, it means we'd like you to elaborate on certain areas because we were undecided and want a better feel of your character before making a decision. Re-writes are treated as holds (comment with the character you want held below to confirm you'd like to hold the character) and challenges are allowed. Re-writes, however, are not allowed extensions.

Characters listed below are most needed. Those featured in Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell but not listed below are still available with the exception of John Uskglass, who will remain a NPC. Some original characters are allowed.

Additionally, canon characters must be created as close to canon as possible. This means we do not accept female versions of characters who are canonically male and that applications will be checked for canon information against the books and The Library at Hurtfew.
